Time dergisi 90 yaşında!
Bu yaşdönümünün anlam ve önemini vurgulamak isteyen bu
tanınmış Amerikan haber dergisi Newsfeed
adlı sitesinden son 90 yıllık dünya tarihini 90 önde gelen kapak konusu aracılığıyla
okuyucularına hatırlatıyor.

uygulanan tasfiye ve dönüştürme operasyonunu sessiz bir çığlıkla protesto etmek için!

Son günlerde Atatürk Cumhuriyeti’nin muhafızları subaylarımıza
uygulanan sorgulama ve tutuklamalar
devam ediyordu zaten- hem de aslında darbe bile olmayan 28 Şubat “darbesi”
için! 27 Şubat’ta beş subay daha ifadeye çağrıldı; bunlardan Em. Org. Erdal
Ceylanoğlu ve Em. Tümg. Yücel Özsır tutuklu, Em. Org. Aslan Güner, Em. Tümg.
Mehmet Başpınar ve Muvazzaf Alb. Mehmet Cumhur Yatıkkaya adli kontol şartıyla
tahliye edilderek tutusuz olarak yargılanacaklar. Bunlardan Erdal Ceylanoğlu, 29
Haziran 2011 “personelinin hukukunu koruyamadığı” gerekçesiyle istifa eden
Genelkurmay Başkanı Işık Koşaner’le birlikte istifa eden üç kuvvet komutanından
biriydi.
28 Şubat gerekliydi, gereksizdi, istediğinizi söyleyin, şunu
inkâr edemezsiniz: hedefi Atatürk Cumhuriyeti’nin amansız düşmanı olan irtica
idi, ve bu tutuklamalar ve yargılamalarla, rezili çıkartılan eğitim sistemi ve açılma
yoluna giren tekke ve zaviyelerle irticanın kucağına atılıyor! Ve “özgürlük”
diye diye çocuklarımız kurban ediliyor ki bana göre kırmızı çizgi, karanlık el
çocukların zihinlerine ulaştığı anda, geçildi!
Polise ve yargıya tehlikeli ölçüde sızılmış, TSK
etkisizleştirilmiş, AKP ihanet ve muhalefet de işbirlikçilik yolunda iken,
gençliğin en mert ve en yürekli kısmı Gençliğe
Hitabe’nin kendilerine verdiği görevi üstlenerek harekete geçti. (Bkz. “Gençlik!”,
16 Aralık 2013) Keşke devletin kendi organları İstiklâl ve Cumhuriyeti
koruyabilseydi de bu ağır yük gençlerimizin omuzlarına yüklenmeseydi! Ama öyle
oldu!
Sinem Gülcan TGB üyesi Atatürk'çü bir üniversite öğrencisi. AKP'li meclis başkanı Cemil Çiçek'e Atatürk'ün Gençliğe Hitabe'sini okuyarak" huzuru bozduğu" için yurttan atılıp bursu kesildi. Gençlik ve Spor Bakanı Suat Kılıç cezayı bu tip "gençlerin huzurunu bozan aşırılıklar" için uygun buldu. Haber: Aydınlık 28 Şubat 2013. Neyse ki kısa bir hukuki mücadeleyle haklarını tekrar kazanmış!

ve Spor Bakanı Suat Kılıç’a yumurtalı eylem yaptılar ve İzmir’deki arkadaşları
gibi yaka paça oradan çıkarıldılar.

Sonra polisler, karakollar, ifadeler... bunu kimse zevk
için yapmaz! Bu yaptıklarını kimin için, ne için yaptıklarını hatırlamak gerekir. Biz köşelerimizde oturanlar, bunu
onlara borçluyuz!
18 Aralık 2012’de ODTÜ öğrencilerinin müthiş
mukavemetinden beri (bkz. “Eğlenmekten Yorulduk”, 6 Ocak 2013) Atatürkçü
gençler AKP bakanlarını ve Başbakanını “üniversitelere sokmama” kararlarını
ilan ettiler. Polis orduları desteğiyle gelen Başbakan ve bakanlara karşı bu
tehditlerini çok da gerçekleştiremeyecekleri açık ama herşey kendilerine
karşıyken yine de çok cüretkâr teşebbüslerde bulunuyorlar. 26 Şubat’taki TGB
eylemi AKP’li Gençlik ve Spor Bakanı Suat Kılıç’ı ve ABB Bakanı Egemen Bağış’ı İstanbul
Üniversitesi’ne sokmadılar, “İfade Özgürlüğü” ile ilgili panele katılamadı.
Gençler planlanan etkinliği kendi forumları hâline getirdiler!
TGB'li gençler İstanbul Üniversitesi'nde "İfade Özgürlüğü" panelini kendi forumlarına çeviriyorlar.
Testtürlü kızlarımız herhâlde AKP'li bakanlar için gelmişlerdi.

To commemorate the occasion, the Time Magazine newsportal
Newsfeed recaps 90 years of modern
history through as many cover stories.
The first of the collection is the cover story from March
24th, 1923. It features Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.

Time posted the item on February 27th, 2013. And how does Atatürk's Republic fare in the meantime? Where has it come 90 years after the first appearance of that Time article?
Today we were once again at the weekly “Silent Scream”
demonstration on behalf of the hundreds officers in prison, held and tried on
flimsy charges in the AKP government’s masterfully orchestrated, barely veiled operation
aimed at dismantling Atatürk’s secular Republic, as part of an ill-advised US
plan for rearranging the Middle East to suit its own interests.
The "Silent Scream", March 2nd 2013, as always drowned out in the crowd and the bustle of the big city...
(324 families are today directly affected- and that is only the "Sledgehammer"!)
In the front row, little Defne, with whom I made friends during the "Silent Scream" demonstration of February 16th (see "Devouring his Own Children", 19 February-Şubat 2013), this time with the support of her cousin, Efe.

Meanwhile arrests of officers- guardians of Ataturk’s Republic- have once again been stepped up, the latest rash being for the “February
28th Process”, with five more officers called for questioning on February 27th,
and will have to face the judges like hundreds of others.[1]
Whatever you may think about the 28th of Febuary process- "coup" if you want to call it, but I won't call it that!- it was undeniably an act against the danger of reactionary, retrogade fundamentalism. Time has proven that it wasn't pure paranoia! Now thanks to the much applauded "democratization" and "demilitarization" of the country under the AKP the road has been cleared to an accelerated plunge into the dark ages- a kind of darkness that all the neon light and tinsel of rampant capitalist commercialism cannot brighten.

With the judiciary and the police taken over and the
military incapacitated, with the AKP in treason and the opposition in
collusion, the best and bravest part of our youth have risen to the call, specifically to the "Call to the Youth" (Gençliğe Hitabe) concluding Atatürk’s “Speech". (See "The Youth", 16 December-Aralık 2012.) It is tragic that the adults, with their selfishness and hidden agendas, have placed such a terrible burden upon the young. It is tragic, but it is so!
Sinem Gülcan is a university student and a member of the TGB and as such a follower of Atatürk's principles. (See "The Youth", 16 December-Aralık 2012.) Her protest action was to read out Atatürk's "Call to the Youth" to Cemil Çiçek, AKP Speaker of the Parliament, and for this was deprived of her dormitory rights and her tuition was cut off. Minister of Youth and Sport Suat Kılıç defended the decision, calling Gülcan's action "extremist, disturbing the peace of mind of other students!" News item, Aydınlık, February 28th, 2013. She won her rights soon after, but only thrugh a legal battle.
And here is a spanking new videoclip of a protest action
of students supporting Atatürk’s legacy, against AKP Minister of Customs and
Trade, Hayati Yazıcı, at the Izmir Economy University. They threw eggs at the
good gentleman!
On the same day students of Çukurova University, Adana,
gave the egg treatment to AKP Minister Youth and Sport Suat Kılıç.

Since the spectacular standoff of the students of Middle
East Technical University on December 18th, Kemalist students have been
attempting to ban all ministers of the fundamentalist retrograde Islamist AKP
government from the universities, albeit with varying success.[3] The action at Istanbul University
on February 26th did keep AKP Minister of Sport Suat Kılıç out; the occasion
was to be a conference on Freedom of Speech and the students said the AKP could
have nothing to say on the subject!

At the very same university, on February 2nd, a professor gave his last lecture. This was Prof. Semih Gemalmaz of the Faculty of Law who resigned in frustration over the repeated administrative inquiries into faculty members and the absurdities and shame o what has been happening in our country, especially in the realm of justice! His last lecture preached integrity resistance:
"You see children, they want to transform you into scribes, not lawyers, and you are still just sitting there, they are stealing your profession, and you are still just sitting there. But the more you keep silent, the more you will surrender, and allow them to play with your fates."

"...henceforward, everyone should have the courage to call it by it's name, each time we encounter the shameless, we must dare call out: 'shameless', call these facists 'fascists!'..."
...
"...What you need to defend, you must defend! Fear not! But sir, they will start an inquest! Let them! You can fight back!"
The professor concluded his last lecture to great ovation!

Yücel Özsır were remanded in
custody, Ret. Full Gen. Aslan Güner, Ret. Lieut. Gen. Mehmet Başpınar and
active Col. Mehmet Cumhur Yatıkkaya have been released on condition of
reporting regularly to the police.
Ret. Full-Gen. Erdal Ceylanoğlu was one of the three
Commanders of the Forces who resigned together with Chief of Staff Işık Koşaner
in protest against the biased judicial procedures of the "Sledgehammer" trials on
July 29th, 2011.
