Uzatmalı Ergenekon davasının hükümleri 5 Ağustos
Pazartesi günü verilecek. Yine vicdan sahibi vatandaşlara çağrılar yapıldı, yine
o gün Silivri “toplama kampı”’nın
önünde biraraya gelerek senelerdir bu düzmece dava yüzünden hayatları
mahvolmuş, bir çoğu hapishane duvarlarından dışarı çıkamamış insanlara destek
olma kararı verildi. Yine, 8 Nisan öncesinde olduğu gibi, bir önceki Cumartesi Almanya’da bir mitingle
yapılacak Silivri eylemi tanıtılıyor
ve destekleniyor. (Bugün Berlin Brandenburg Kapısı’nda saat 17:00’den
itibaren!) Ve bu olgular karşısında AKP yönetimindeki gerginlik belirginleşiyor.

şokunu atlatamamışken Mısır’daki Müslüman Kardeşler yönetimine karşı
başkaldırmanın Cumhurbaşkanı Mursi’yi yerinden indiren bir askeri müdaheleyle
sonuçlanması başbakan Erdoğan ve hükümetini telaşlandırmıştı zaten. Erdoğan Mısır’daki
askerlere “darbeciler” diye yağıp eserken ABD Devlet Bakanı John Kerry evvelki gün (1
Ağustos) tutup “orada askerler demokrasiyi geri getirdi” gibi bir lâf ederek
zaten korku içindeki hükümetimizi daha da bir paniğe soktu.
Bu günler Yüksek Askeri Şura’nın toplandığı, terfi ve
emeklilik kararlarının verildiği günler! Şura toplantıları son senelerde
oldukça gergin geçiyor; birçok yüksek rütbeli subay düzmece ithamlarla ya hükümlü,
ya davalı. AKP’nin yıllardır sürdürdüğü Silahlı Kuvvetler üzerindeki gerçekleştirdiği itibarsızlaştırma
ve tasfiye operasyonu, Mursi ve Müslüman Kardeşler’in başına gelenler gibi bir
akibetten kaçınmak içindi! Şimdi bir yandan Şura’dan çıkacak terfi ve
emeklilikleri tamamen kendi çıkarlarına göre ayarlamaya çalışırken Silivri’ye toplanma çağrısı yapanlara da
baskı uygulayarak çağrıya uyacak vatandaşları korkutma ve sindirme yoluna gidiyorlar.
3 Ağustos Cumartesi günü İşçi Partisi, Aydınlık Gazetesi, Ulusal Kanal ve TGB’yi hedefleyen baskınlar ve tutuklamalarla
başladı, halka Silivri çağrısına uymama uyarısı yapıldı. Duruşma salonuna
sanıkların aileleri dahil hiç bir dinleyicinin alınmayacağı bildirildi. Bu
tedbirler ve bu korkuya bakılırsa hükümler şimdiden bilinmekte ve açıkhavada
Ağustos güneşinde polisle yüzyüze bekleşen kalabalığın tepkisinden korkuyorlar.
3 Ağustos 2013: TGB Genel Başkanı Çağdaş Cengiz, elleri kelepçeli, gözaltına alınırken. Evinde arama 6:30'da başlıyor ve 16:30'a kadar sürüyor.

The final verdicts of the drawn out Ergenekon trials , are expected on Monday, the 5th of August.[1] Again, there has been an appeal to conscientious citizens to go there in support of the defendants. Again, it is preceded by a rally today in Berlin, Germany 17:00, Brandenburger Tor. The AKP regime is visibly spooked!
Erdoğan and the AKP had hardly the time to overcome the shock of the "Promenade Park" (Gezi Parkı) uprising when the coup in Egypt against the Muslim Brotherhood regime under President Morsi vividly played out their worst nightmare. As if that wasn't enough, just the other day (August 1st), US Secretary of State John Kerry spoke in support of the Coup (quote: that the military in Egypt was “restoring democracy”). Understandably this sent the AKP leadership into further panic.
These are the days when Turkey’s High Military Council[2] assembles to discuss promotions, something it has been doing under serious stress due to the many officers in custody, facing charges, or already convicted- all on sham accusations in a widespread and drawn out operation to avoid exactly the kind of outcome as occured in Egypt. As expected, the AKP has seen to it that the Council decisions pose as little threat as possible to its own hold on power, however dangerous and even treacherous its policies.
Even as the AKP maneuvered to minimalize any potential threat from the Armed Forces, it moved to ward off the dangers of a public insurrection that the Ergenekon verdicts might ignite.
Today, with the Monday verdicts just two days off, there has been a spate of raids, searches and arrests from early morning onwards, targeting the Labor Party, the newspaper Aydınlık, the sattelite-only channel Ulusal, and the Union of Turkish Youth, the TGB.

The AKP regime obviously knows the verdicts in advance, and is very uneasy about the reaction of the crowds that will assemble there before the Silivri prison on Monday, facing the police and enduring the August sun on open fields. Authorities have announced that no one, not even relatives, will be allowed into the courtroom this time. Citizens are told not to answer the call, and the busloads of citizens will most probably have to put up with roadblocks and attempts to deny access to the prison compound area. We can expect a very heated Monday, the heat building up through the weekend.
